Choose dimensions for where the photo will be used
A photo that looks good on a phone may contain far more pixels than a website thumbnail or an email attachment needs. Reducing its dimensions can make it easier to share. It also removes image detail, so keep your original when you may need a print or a larger version later.
File Hub offers resizing inside its Telegram Mini App. The bot chat has separate image actions; sending a photo to the chat does not open a custom resize dialog. Open the App menu in @dwnl_hub_bot to use the local resizing tool. No separate File Hub account is needed.
Resize one photo and inspect the result
- Open File Hub: enter the bot chat in Telegram and open its App menu.
- Choose Resize: select the resizing tool in the Mini App and choose an image from your device. Local selection accepts files up to 25 MiB.
- Set the maximum side: use the slider to choose a limit between 320 and 2560 pixels. The image keeps its proportions. For example, a 2000 by 1500 photo with a maximum side of 800 becomes 800 by 600.
- Process the image: run the operation and review the result. This tool reduces an image whose longest side exceeds the selected limit; it does not enlarge smaller images.
- Check before sharing: compare the preview and file size, and inspect the saved image dimensions. Look especially at small text, fine lines and faces.
- Choose delivery: explicitly save the result to your device or send it to the bot chat. Local processing does not automatically deliver a message. Sending to the chat uploads the result and is limited to 20 MiB.
Keep the original and distinguish size limits
The resize tool exports JPEG. Resizing and JPEG encoding can change quality; a smaller pixel count does not guarantee a particular percentage reduction in bytes. If you need transparency, keep a copy of the original and check whether another format or image tool suits the task.
The 25 MiB selection limit belongs to the Mini App. The bot chat input limit and the Mini App chat-delivery limit are 20 MiB. If selection or delivery exceeds its limit, reduce the source locally or choose a smaller result. Buying PRO does not increase these size limits.
Local Mini App processing does not consume the bot's daily image allowance. Free bot image operations have a separate allowance of three per day; PRO removes those daily use limits. You do not need to buy PRO simply to move the resize slider.
