Split a bill by photo — receipt OCR does the maths

The awkward moment the bill arrives

Everyone reaches for their phone calculator, someone forgets the tip, and the numbers never quite add up. Splitting a shared bill by hand is the least fun part of a night out.

File Hub does it from a single photo of the receipt: it reads the total with OCR, adds the tip, divides by the number of people, and shows exactly what each person pays.

How to split a bill in Telegram

1. Open the bot. Tap Open File Hub or search @dwnl_hub_bot.
2. Send a photo of the receipt. A clear, straight-on shot reads best.
3. Enter the details. How many people, and what tip % you want to add.
4. Get the split. The bot returns the per-person amount — including tip — instantly.

How the receipt reading works

The split uses Tesseract OCR to find the total on the receipt. It runs offline on the server — there are no calls to any external AI, so it's fast, private and free. If the photo is blurry and the total can't be read, you can type it in manually and still get the split and tip maths.

What happens to the photo?

The receipt image is processed and deleted right after — nothing is stored. Details are in the privacy policy.
